We’ve got Solar Panels! Come check it out this Saturday!
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009Thanks to Green Mountain Energy (who donated the panels) and Standard Renewable Energy (who donated the installation), we now have a solar array installed on the roof of our building!
The panels convert sunlight into electricity and will offset approximately 5,100 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) each year, the equivalent of planting 150 trees or removing 130 cars from the road annually.
To celebrate, come by the shop this Saturday, January 24 and check out the events below:

Scholar Shop presents…Soul on Ice
Tuesday, January 6th, 2009Come join us as we read Soul on Ice by Eldridge Cleaver. Soul on Ice is a collection of autobiographical essays and notes on the black experience in the ghetto, in prison, and in the larger society. Eldridge Cleaver experiences great anguish as he constructs a philosophy capable of making sense of his life and of the inferior status of black people in America and throughout the world.
Every Wednesday 7pm
